About
From Congress.gov:
This bill supports efforts to increase human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates and otherwise prevent and treat cervical cancer and other cancers associated with that virus.
Specifically, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) must educate the public about HPV vaccinations. The CDC must consult with the National Academy of Medicine, health departments, and other stakeholders on this effort. In addition, recipients of project grants to establish and maintain preventive health services may use grant funds for state immunization information systems.
Furthermore, the bill directs the National Cancer Institute to expand research activities focused on HPV-associated cancers and reauthorizes the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. This program provides access to screening and diagnostic services to uninsured and other underserved individuals.
